Our sixth company briefing was held at the Parkmore Hotel with networking in the Yarm Suite and presentations held in the Three Rivers Suite. With speakers from Ensus CropEnergies & Jacobs Ensus is a bioethanol plant commissioned in 2010, with its production facility located on the Wilton chemical complex. In 2013 the company was acquired by CropEnergies AG, Mannheim. Excitingly, CropEnergies has stated it’s intension to improve the competitiveness of the Wilton site by investing more than 50 million GBP. The plant is one of the largest bioethanol production plants in Europe. Jacob’s is involved in three key market segments: Energy & Environmental; Oil, Gas & Process and Mining & Metals. With a major office facility based in Stockton on Tees, the operation today is a knowledge-based business, employing professional engineers. With a rich and long history in Stockton, recent incarnations of the company has been known as: Davy Corporation, Kvaerner and Aker Solutions. The company was acquired from Aker Solutions by Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in 2011.
